Wind: Easterly of 0-10 MPH most of the week and 20 on Friday Hurricane Grace passed well North of us and strong trade winds returned Friday. Weather: Mostly fair weather aside from an occasional squall until Friday. We will see Kevin back in June, 2022 along with additional family members for a combination fishing and diving stay. Kevin also did well landing his first-ever permit along with numerous bonefish and several other species. He not only landed his first permit, but also a second later in the week. This was Templeton’s first visit to Turneffe Flats. Hailing from Birmingham, AL, Kevin S., arrived returned after visiting only a couple of months ago, with his son, Templeton. He was rewarded by not only his first of several permit, but also his first ‘ Grand Slam.’ Way to go Tom! We were able to find him a fishing spot for the remained or the week, which turned out to be a great decision. They primarily chose to wade our picturesque flats but also spent time targeting snook and tarpon along the mangrove edge.Īlthough they were scheduled to snorkel, Tom couldn’t break away from his fishing. The first couple days brought steady bonefishing. Past guests Tom & Carole S., of Windsor, CO began the week intending to split their time between fishing and our Atoll Adventure program. All of our full-week anglers landed at least one permit this week! Large tarpon (over 90#) continue to be present in significant numbers, making for a longer tarpon season than normal. Tides: High tide of 1.1 ft at 8am on Sunday the 19th, meant fishing the incoming tide through the morning this week.Ī small group of anglers enjoyed beautiful summer weather with bright, calm conditions. Wind: Calm conditions ESE trade wind of 3-10 mph
